Anything you can cook in an oven can pretty much be cooked in an air fryer!

The possibilities are endless … you can even use your air fryer to make comfort food!

Air Fryers are great for dishes such as chicken, beef, lamb, pork, seafood, even vegan meals. The Air Fryer can beautifully cook roasts, vegetables, steaks, meatballs, sausages … and a favourite in many homes; chippies!  You can cook sides, desserts, and snacks!

One of the great things about Air Fryer Cooking is you don’t need a lot of oil, in fact, for a lot of foods, you don’t need any oil!

How To Get the Best Out Of Your Air Fryer.

There is no doubt, Air Fryers make great fries as well as many great quick, easy and nutritious meals.

To get the best out of your Air Fryer, here are some tips to follow when using your Air Fryer, from Pre-Heating to Cleaning.

Pre-Heat Your Air Fryer.

To kick off, for optimal cooking, pre-heat your air fryer for approximately 3 minutes at the required cooking temperature before putting the food into the basket. This will also heat the cooking basket to the right temperature, and makes for yummy, crispy perfectly air fried food!

Give Your Food Room To Breathe!

Remember how an air fryer works? Hot air is circulated in and around the basket, so if the air fryer basket is overcrowded with food, your meal may not cook as well, or may not turn out as crispy as you had hoped. The food needs room to breathe, air to circulate so that the food cooks evenly.

For the most even cooking, remove the basket part way through cooking, say after 5 minutes, give it a gentle shake to toss the food, return the basket to continue cooking. You’ll achieve the best results by shaking the basket at least once, perhaps twice during the cooking time.

It is best to cook the food in smaller batches. Air Fryers are available in different sizes, such as the Philips XL Air Fryer, that is great for 4 people. If you would rather a larger capacity Air Fryer, say for 6 people, there’s the Philips XXL Air Fryer.

Caring For Your Air fryer.

To help your Air fryer to continue to do a great job, and to have it last longer, it is best to wash the basket and if your Air Fryer has one, the bottom tray each time you use it. It’s as easy as using hot soapy water, and depending on what you have cooked, it may need a soak and/or a slight scrub to removed the hard stuff. I always wash my air fryer tray and basket by hand, and never put it in the dishwasher. I do this at the end of cooking, and don’t let it sit unwashed! If you leave it unwashed, you risk any leftover debris (maybe breadcrumbs) burning the next time you use your air fryer, causing it to burn and smoke. Not safe and can ruin your next cook up!

You can make cleanup easier by using cooking spray in the basket before each use, or lining the bottom inner tray with baking paper or alfoil.
